Luis Diaz has claimed that he could feel the love from Liverpool supporters towards him immediately after he joined the club.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Diaz praised the Liverpool fans for the way they greeted his arrival at Anfield.
“The fans, I’ve felt from the very outset there’s this strong passion, respect and love for me. I felt it straight away. I can feel they are the greatest fans out there,” said the Colombian.
That’s absolutely true. And judging from Diaz’s celebration when scoring against Crystal Palace recently, that love is already reciprocated.

Liverpool fans falling in love with Diaz
As a footballer, Luis Diaz is a very easy player to fall in love with. He plays with an electricity that really gets supporters off their feet.
Not only that, but his combative nature and never-say-die attitude shine through on the pitch, too. These are all traits that have endeared him to Liverpool fans in his short time with the club.
It helps that he’s played a big part in Liverpool winning two major trophies over the last eight months as well. If you turn up in the biggest games for your new team, you’re not going to have a hard time winning friends.
That’s exactly what Diaz did with Man of the Match displays in his first two Liverpool finals. Not bad going.

Unfortunately, the 25-year-old couldn’t then replicate that in the Champions League final in Paris. But that wasn’t through lack of effort. Diaz merely looked like a long season had caught up with him.
He’s started the new season a little in the same way truth be told. But his goal against Palace was a reminder of his importance to Liverpool. Diaz will only get better, and that’s a scary prospect.
If he continues on the same path, the supporters’ love for him will go into overdrive. Should Diaz explode in the manner that Diogo Jota did last season, he can expect his very own song to be belted out on The Kop before too long.
