Fabinho’s wife gave an instant reaction to Liverpool’s display against Manchester United after the Brazilian midfielder didn’t start.
Jurgen Klopp had one notable selection choice ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Old Trafford. He left Fabinho on the bench, playing Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Harvey Elliott in midfield.
Given the Brazilian is one of the world’s best defensive midfielders, it was a bit of a shock. The fact that Liverpool didn’t play well at all shines further light on the decision to leave Fabinho out.
And so it was interesting to see Fabinho’s wife, Rebeca Tavares give a reaction to the performance on Twitter immediately after full-time. It was very short – one mind-blowing emoji.
Fabinho’s wife reacts to Liverpool defeat
It’s easy to feel that she’s reacting to Klopp’s decision to leave Fabinho out, of course. That would be complete speculation, though – she might just be amazed at Liverpool’s entire performance.
We know we were.
As for why Fabinho didn’t start, there isn’t much suggestion of an injury. He came on in the second half, too, though didn’t make much of a difference.

We imagine Naby Keita’s absence played a part. That meant either Harvey Elliott would start and Klopp likely only wanted Elliott playing on the right of the three. Milner was then the obvious choice on the left of the three – and Jordan Henderson was always going to play.
In the end, it didn’t make a difference. Liverpool were awful from the start and we’re not sure Fabinho starting the game would have fixed that. Especially when similar problems were there against Crystal Palace and Fulham.
Liverpool’s inability to pass through the press wouldn’t have been much better with Fabinho in there, essentially.
A memorable Liverpool performance for the wrong reasons.
