Klopp brings ‘the best’ straight back in: Early predicted Liverpool lineup vs Bournemouth

Here’s our early predicted Liverpool lineup to face Bournemouth on Saturday. The Reds need to correct their awful start rapidly.

We’re not three games into the Premier League season and Liverpool are yet to win. Even more worryingly, they were genuinely awful against Manchester United on Monday evening.

And so the game against Bournemouth this weekend is a big one. Liverpool need to get back on track and playing at home against a newly-promoted side is a fine way to do just that.

Change is necessary, however – and we expect a couple from Jurgen Klopp. Here’s our early predicted Liverpool lineup to face Bournemouth.

Early Liverpool lineup vs Bournemouth

Defence

Alisson Becker certainly keeps his place in goal and we can’t imagine Virgil van Dijk drops out. In fact, him and Joe Gomez are the only available centre-backs, other than Nat Phillips.

Andy Robertson could potentially step out for Kostas Tsimikas but we don’t see any reason to. The bigger issue is Trent Alexander-Arnold. He was terrible against United, earning heavy criticism from Jamie Carragher.

But Liverpool simply don’t have a backup right-back right now. Calvin Ramsay is a long ways from stepping up and we expect Alexander-Arnold to retain his place.

Midfield

Fabinho is an absolute must here after dropping him didn’t work against United. We’d also stick with Harvey Elliott, who looked good at Old Trafford – one of the few bright sparks.

We think Liverpool asked too much of him, however, and one way to correct that is by introducing a second attacking midfielder. Back Fabinho to be the defensive presence and draft Fabio Carvalho into the XI. The Brazilian is seen as one of ‘the best’ holding midfielders around for a reason – he can cover the two attacking players. Yes, it’s a relatively crazy midfield but the Reds need a jolt of energy.

Elliott and Carvalho could, if all goes well, wreak havoc at Anfield.

Attack

Injuries at Liverpool make this one fairly obvious. Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Roberto Firmino are the only available forwards that we’d trust – even if the Brazilian was very poor on Monday.

But who else can play centrally? There’s the option of Diaz playing centrally and Carvalho wide-left but we’d rather the youngster got on the ball through the middle.

Keep the attack the same and hope that the midfield can finally get the ball to them.
