Mohamed Salah has vowed to break Liverpool’s Premier League scoring record this season.
Speaking to Football Daily, the Liverpool forward insisted that he will soon be top of the pile of Premier League goal-scorers for Liverpool.
“[I’m going to be] The highest scorer for Liverpool in the Premier League, that’s for sure,” said the Egyptian. “It’s clear in my mind I’m going to do it, hopefully soon.”
Salah is currently third in The Reds’ all-time list, nine off Robbie Fowler in top spot. But Mo aside, which of Jurgen Klopp’s 2022/23 squad have scored the most goals in the competition.

Roberto Firmino
Now that Sadio Mane has left the club, Roberto Firmino is next in line behind Salah. Since joining Liverpool in 2015, the Brazilian has scored 71 Premier League goals.
That puts him 6th in the all-time list for Liverpool. Not bad for a player who isn’t generally considered to be a an out-and-out goal-scorer.
Jordan Henderson
Next up is Liverpool’s current longest-serving player: Jordan Henderson.
The Reds captain is another player who isn’t well-known for his goal-scoring. As a result, it’s more longevity than anything else which has secured him second-place here.
With a severe drop-off from Firmino, Henderson has 29 Premier League goals for Liverpool. In all-time terms, he’s 16th. There were some crackers in there too.

Diogo Jota
Sitting in third is a man who’s only been at Liverpool for two seasons. That gives you some idea just how good Diogo Jota has been since joining in 2020.
His 24 goals will surely be added to this season, too. He’s currently sitting in 20th of all Liverpool players. Expect him to rise rapidly up that list once he’s back fit again.
James Milner
Another to benefit from a long-time playing at Anfield perhaps, is James Milner,
The Liverpool penalty king has 19 goals, 13 of which have been from the spot. Right now, that sees him take up 27th place in the all-time list.
Virgil Van Dijk
Bringing up the rear in this particular list is Liverpool’s no.4, Virgil Van Dijk.

The centre-back could have been a striker in another life. His striking of the ball is exceptionally clean, which has led to him scoring 13 times for The Reds in the Premier League. That’s enough for Van Dijk to squeeze into the top 40, in 39th place.
What this list does highlight is that Liverpool have a slight lack of Premier League experience up-front this season.
In a year or two, it’ll be expected that both Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez will have made their way onto this list. For now though, Salah is flying far ahead of his teammates as he aims for the record this season.
