Liverpool have sent scouts on ‘many’ occasions to watch Villarreal’s exciting young winger Yeremi Pino.
That’s according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Romano claimed that Liverpool are one of three Premier League clubs following Pino.
“Many questions on Yeremi Pino. We have many rumours, it’s one of many players followed by Arsenal, but also by other clubs, for example, I am told that Chelsea have been tracking Yeremi Pino and now they are on [Anthony] Gordon. Pino is a player they have been watching for a long time,” said Romano, before confirming Liverpool’s interest.
“Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Pino many, many times in the past year. Top English clubs have been following him.”

Pino looks to have all the qualities that Liverpool like in a forward. He is quick, agile, can use either foot, and loves to play wide before cutting inside.
He also looks to have an eye for goal, as his three goals in a single half against Espanyol last season would suggest.
Unfortunately, Liverpool scouts didn’t get to have a closer look at him when they faced Villarreal in April. The 19-year-old was ruled out through injury as The Reds clashed with the Spanish club in the Champions League.
No matter, it sounds as though they’ll have plenty of reports, should they choose to use them.
If they do, Pino could reportedly cost them a pretty penny. According to El Desmarque, the Spain international has a release clause of £67m. Villarreal are also reportedly expecting a £42m bid from either Liverpool or Arsenal.
Either would be a pretty whopping figure for someone with just 78 La Liga appearances. It also isn’t the kind of fee that Liverpool routinely pay for any player, let alone one as young as Pino.
With Chelsea and Arsenal also seemingly tracking the youngster, both of those clubs may fork out more than Liverpool. As a result, The Reds may need to count on their sporting project and the presence of Jurgen Klopp, as well as a Spanish speaking contingent to lure their man.
