Jamie Redknapp has urged Liverpool to sign Jude Bellingham in what’s left of this summer’s transfer market.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, Redknapp claimed that Liverpool could be left behind their rivals if they don’t make a midfield signing.
“They said they are not going to go into the market, but I think they should and try and find a way to sign Jude Bellingham. That would be a brilliant signing for them. He’d be the one,” said the former Reds captain.
“Whoever looks after him, I know he’s got a great family unit around him, and they want him to have another year at Dortmund, which is understandable because he’s done so well there and is learning the game. It does feel like it will happen in time that he goes to Liverpool, but sometimes it is a case of needs must.

“Thiago has already picked up a hamstring injury, and you’ve got James Milner and Jordan Henderson who aren’t young men any more. Sometimes you have to get into the market as you don’t want to fall behind too quickly.”
Liverpool prepared to muddle through
With just two weeks of the window now remaining, most supporters will have given up hope of any new arrivals at Anfield.
Surely the only thing that would change Liverpool’s mind now is another injury to a key player. That’s obviously a scenario that nobody wants to see happen.
If everyone remains healthy, it’s hard to see why Liverpool would change their stance so late in the window. If the conversations were around a player who was actively looking to move, maybe then it would be frugal to wait a little longer.
But with Bellingham, Borussia Dortmund’s stance has always been clear. If Liverpool want their star man, they’ll have to try to get him next summer. Oh, and it may even cost them £100m for the pleasure (Bild).

There have even been suggestions that Dortmund will do everything possible to keep hold of the 19-year-old. With those kind of reports circulating, there seems little point of testing their resolve one last time this summer.
Instead, Liverpool will do what they always seem to – muddle through with what they have. It wouldn’t be Liverpool if we were one injury away from potential catastrophe now would it?
With Thiago already missing, the key man to keep fit is now Fabinho. Let’s hope the Brazilian stays well.
