Ibrahima Konaté looked seriously impressive as Liverpool released footage of their latest training session. The Reds are nearing the full season.

Liverpool put out their latest Inside Training video on Tuesday and it featured an interesting competition. The Reds split players into several teams based on age for quick ‘young v old’ games.

As we pointed out earlier today, one team really stood out as it featured Liverpool players just coming into their prime. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez, Harvey Davies and Ibrahima Konaté all helped steal the show in training.

And we wanted to make a special mention for Konaté, who consistently shone throughout Liverpool’s footage. The Frenchman looked like dynamite on the ball, consistently looking to make winding Joel Matip-style runs through players.

He looks more comfortable than ever with the ball at his feet. At one stage, Konaté is getting in for a tap-in as the furthest man forward. At another, he’s dribbling past three opponents to get into the box.

It’s all wonderful to see from a player who could well hit another level this season. That’s certainly the impression Alexander-Arnold gives, who raved about Konaté back in May.

“We’ve created a bond, we get along so well,” he told LFCTV. “He’s an amazing lad and an unbelievable player, the potential he has is ridiculous.

“So I’m very proud of him, I think the sky is the limit, there’s no ceiling on his potential. Hopefully, we’ll win a lot of trophies together, me and him.”

Konaté wasn’t the only one to catch the eye, of course. Luis Diaz looks as sharp as ever, while Thiago was fiery at times across the footage. Roberto Firmino, too, showed off some incredible touches as the players performed rondos before their competition.

Everything looks good at Liverpool, then. Players are blending in well, we’ve got youngsters improving further and the Community Shield is under a week away. We can’t wait for the season to kick off.
