Liverpool signings Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho have been spotted enjoying some time off with their new teammates in Austria.

The Reds are currently underway with their annual training camp in the foothills of The Alps. And as seen by a photo posted on the Liverpool FC Twitter page, the trip is helping the new-boys settle in.

Nunez and Carvalho were joined by a variety of Spanish and Portuguese speaking teammates for what looks like an evening meal.

It’s no surprise to see Luis Diaz, Adrian, Alisson Becker, Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino settling the lads in.

Slightly more left-field is the inclusion of Kostas Tsimikas. The Greek is a popular member of the squad though, and his infectious personality apparently chimes in any language. Enjoy your dinner chaps, easy on the dessert!

Liverpool new-boys hit the ground running

There are a few reasons for Jurgen Klopp’s insistence on the time away in Austria during pre-season.

Chief among them is obviously to build the player’s fitness away from the distractions of being at home. That’s the most important thing as the season draws nearer.

But it’s also mightily handy for building rapport amongst teammates new and old. Nunez and Carvalho will learn a lot about the squad they’ve joined as they live and train at close quarters.

There’s also the traditional karaoke and quiz nights that help to smash through any lingering nerves players might have.

In that respect, both of Liverpool’s new signings seem to have hit the ground running. It helps that The Reds have a settled squad who in many cases know each other extremely well.

But there’s still always a risk that brining new faces in can disrupt that fine balance. Luckily for Liverpool, they get it right more often than not.

With Carvalho and Nunez, they look to have hit the nail on the head once again.
