Liverpool youngster shares picture of himself looking absolutely massive in training alongside new signing

Liverpool defender Rhys Williams has posted a picture of himself looking enormous next to new signing Fabio Carvalho in training.

Taking to his Instagram stories, the Liverpool youngster shared a picture of he and Carvalho from the latest training session.

Challenging each other for the ball, Williams towers over Carvalho who looks to have no chance of winning the duel.

The two players were part of the group back at the AXA Training after the conclusion of the tour of Thailand and Singapore.

Big season ahead for Williams

Williams is now one of the most experienced young players in the Liverpool squad. Compared to even younger players such as Isaac Mabaya and Stefan Bajcetic, the 21-year-old is an old head.

Even compared to Carvalho, who is yet to turn twenty, Williams is still an older player.

There have been reports that Liverpool will once again allow Williams to leave on-loan during the summer window.

But time is ticking down in that respect. Should he stay at Liverpool, it seems unlikely that he’ll get any first-team minutes. He re-joined the club in January after cutting his time at Swansea City short, but didn’t feature at all for The Reds senior team.

The loan last season was supposed to give him a leg-up on his development after a promising season at Anfield. It didn’t pan out that way though, and Williams effectively lost a season.

It’s important that if he does go on-loan, the right club is chosen for him. The England U21 international can’t really afford another lost year if he still has designs on being part of the Liverpool squad long-term.

As for Carvalho, he may be small, but he looks a player. We’re going to have plenty of fun with him in the side!
