Jordan Henderson has shared a photo of several Liverpool players looking smart at Andy Robertson’s wedding this summer.

Posting the picture on Instagram, Henderson used the caption ‘Squad goals’ as the Reds’ swapped their kits for suits.

As the groom, Robertson finds himself front and centre of the picture. In an array of different colours and styles are James Milner, Thiago Alcantara, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Henderson and Virgil Van Dijk.

Sneaking onto the end of the photo is former Liverpool star Adam Lallana. Jurgen Klopp was memorably a huge fan of Lallana, calling him ‘one of the most influential players’ he’d ever coached via liverpoolfc.com.

And clearly Lallana hasn’t been forgotten by his former teammates either. Despite leaving Liverpool for Brighton in 2020, he obviously still has a presence in the squad. Looking good, lads!

Thiago’s influence growing at Liverpool

It’s always good to see members of the Liverpool squad fraternising away from the pitch. Time spent together will only deepen the bonds that playing and training alongside each other day-in-day-out brings.

In particular, it’s interesting to note Thiago’s inclusion here. The 31-year-old aside, all the other players in the picture have been at the club for at least four-and-a-half years.

Thiago has been at Anfield for just two years. Nevertheless, amongst real leaders of the club, he has already cemented himself as a key figure.

He has recently been seen translating for Darwin Nunez, and was also instrumental in settling Luis Diaz in at the club.

It isn’t just with the Spanish and Portuguese speaking contingent he is popular though. There’s a distinctly British feel to the players at Robbo’s do, and Thiago seems to have slotted into that, too.

As his influence on the pitch grows at Liverpool, so too does his influence off it. His signing from Bayern Munich in 2020 was a big one in many ways. It was the first time an established world-class player had joined Liverpool in many years, possibly ever.

Not only did Liverpool get themselves a majestic player for a pretty unbelievably low fee, they also got a huge influence in the dressing room. We’re looking forward to seeing how Thiago steps it up for his third season in red. You get the feeling the best is still yet to come.
