Klopp is 'over the moon' at one of Liverpool's signings in particular, says he's ready to 'start tomorrow'

Jurgen Klopp is ‘over the moon’ with Liverpool signing Fabio Carvalho. The Liverpool boss clearly rates the player highly.

Fabio Carvalho arrived at Liverpool this summer as a wonderful prospect. But just how good is he? Jurgen Klopp appears to believe he’s something very, very special – the boss is ‘over the moon’ with his arrival.

“Fabio, wow, what a season he played with Fulham,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com. “Getting promoted [with a] football-playing [style], properly football-playing, is not easy.

“It’s a short-term and a long-term project; he can start tomorrow and he needs to adapt, you can see that a little bit, but when he has the ball that’s proper quality. I’m over the moon that he’s here. Fantastic prospect.”

Klopp thrilled with Liverpool signing Fabio Carvalho

What more can you possibly want to hear? Klopp not only rates Carvalho as a top prospect for the future but believes he’s ready to start for Liverpool right now. And all from a teenager plucked from the Championship.

But there really isn’t anything better than a top prospect with the ability to start right away. It suggests Carvalho has enormous potential, given Liverpool haven’t even started developing him themselves yet.

It’s also encouraging that everyone who has worked with Carvalho rates him remarkably highly. Harvey Elliott, for instance, says the Portuguese playmaker was his favourite player in Fulham’s academy when he was there. Rhys Williams trained with him once and saw enough to sign his praises.

We can’t wait to see what Carvalho brings to Liverpool, then. He’s a player who can play a variety of roles, boasts incredible technical ability and is still only 19. He truly could be a star in the making if all goes well this season.

Put that alongside Elliott and Curtis Jones and Liverpool’s future creativity looks absolutely fantastic.
