Video: Henderson now spotted training with 'outstanding' player who Klopp sold from Liverpool four years ago

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been spotted training alongside former Anfield teammate Danny Ings.

In a video posted by the Liverpool Echo on Twitter, Henderson can be seen being put through his paces in the sun.

Mirroring his exercises is former Liverpool man Ings. The two shared a dressing room at Liverpool for three years between 2015 and 2018.

Ings, who now plays for Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa, was a popular member of the squad before being sold to Southampton.

Henderson ready to go again after marathon season

The life of a professional footballer is such that the hard-work never really stops.

In Henderson’s case, you could forgive him for putting his feet up through the summer. The Liverpool captain played 57 times for his team last season – more than any other player.

Having turned thirty-two last week, you could understand him taking a moment to ease off.

That’s not in Hendo’s nature, though. The England man has clearly been taking tips of vice-captain James Milner in an attempt to ensure his career at the top-level is nowhere near finished.

That bodes very well for Liverpool ahead of the new season. With reports emerging that The Reds will stave off a big midfield signing for another year, they’ll still need Henderson as much as ever.

Pre-season countdown is on

There’s now less than two weeks to go until Liverpool’s pre-season gets underway.

Hopefully all of Henderson’s teammates are keeping themselves just as fresh as Liverpool prepare for another assault on all fronts.

As for Ings, he’ll be looking to get back to the kind of form which earnt him a £25m move to Villa last summer.

Jurgen Klopp is famously a big fan of the 29-year-old. Upon his Liverpool exit, the manager was moved to call him an ‘outstanding boy’ via liverpoolfc.com.
