Liverpool are about to receive an offer to take Neco Williams away from Anfield on a permanent basis.

That’s according to The Daily Mail, who claim that Fulham are ‘preparing’ an offer of £10m to bring Williams back to Craven Cottage.

The 21-year-old spent a successful half season on loan in West London last season, and Fulham would reportedly like him to return.

It’s claimed that the bid is aimed to ‘fend off’ interest from both Nottingham Forest and Southampton for Williams.

Williams exit getting closer

There has been some mixed messages regarding the future of Liverpool’s Welsh international recently.

Some reports have claimed that Liverpool will be happy to send the right-back on-loan again. Others have claimed that they’ll look for around £15m to sell him. It’s even been reported that Liverpool are happy to keep him.

Now though, it looks virtually certain that Williams will leave the club permanently this summer.

The only questions that remain are which club will he be playing for, and how much can Liverpool fetch for him.

Liverpool have reportedly, and fairly, raised their asking price from £10m to £15m to let Williams go. In that respect, and with interest looking widespread, Liverpool can probably afford to reject Fulham’s opening salvo.

However, Jurgen Klopp will no doubt be keen to get the matter sorted before his squad return for pre-season on July 4th.

It doesn’t serve anybody to have outgoing players lingering around ahead of the new season.

A year ago, Liverpool were seemingly happy to accept a similar fee to the one reported here. In the best interests of the player, maybe they’ll be willing to bend a little to Fulham now too.
