Liverpool have decided against selling Neco Williams this summer, according to reports. The youngster was previously rated at £15m.
This comes from the Mirror. They claim that Liverpool are ready to send Neco Williams out on loan again next season and have let him know.
Two Premier League sides are already looking to bring him in, both recently promoted. The first is Fulham, where Williams spent the second half of last season on loan. Nottingham Forest are the other after earning their place in the Premier League via the PlayOffs.
This would mean passing up on the chance to sell Williams, of course. Reports previously indicated that Liverpool saw £15m in the full-back, should he move on this summer.
There had also been reports, such as from the Liverpool Echo, that the Reds weren’t entirely sure they wanted to sell, though. It now appears that they’ve chosen that direction and will keep Williams on the books.
Liverpool opt against selling Neco Williams
We think this is the right choice and said as much during the week. If Williams is worth £15m after solid form in the Championship for six months, his value could skyrocket with a full campaign on loan in the Premier League.

Thus sending him to Fulham or Nottingham Forest makes a lot of sense to us. The two sides would use him all season long and we know Williams can compete at the top level. He’s done it in the Champions League and for Wales.
At the very least, Liverpool would be able to move him on for even more in 2023. At the most, Williams could show the kind of form that earns him a place in the first-team squad going forward.
After all, he’s a versatile full-back who can cover both flanks. Throw in his homegrown status and there’s a lot of value for Liverpool. This is unquestionably the right decision to send him out on loan.
