Barcelona’s Gavi has made an ultimate decision on his future, according to reports. Liverpool put a big offer on the table.
This comes from both Mundo Deportivo and Fabrizio Romano. They claim that Gavi has made an ultimate decision on his future and he will renew with Barcelona.
The deal isn’t exactly signed and sealed yet but an agreement is there. The club just needs to ready the paperwork before all is said and done.
Barcelona – and really everyone at this point – rate Gavi very highly. Dani Alves, who played alongside the teenager last season, says he didn’t know who he was but quickly saw ‘incredible’ talent in Gavi.
Thus there was a rush to renew his contract with only one year remaining. But at 17, finding the right wage proved difficult – especially as there were offers elsewhere.
La Porteria claimed last week that Liverpool put in one offer that was four times higher than Barcelona’s. They clearly hoped that would be enough to turn his head and we can only assume that Barca upped their own terms.
Whatever they’ve done, it’s swayed Gavi enough to put pen to paper.
Gavi makes decision on future
We were never really on the side of ‘probable’ with Gavi joining Liverpool. It always seemed like a pipe dream, though the longer his contract talks went on, the more likely it seemed.

And make no mistake – he’d have been a fantastic fit with the Reds. It’s no shock to hear that they went all-out to try and sign the youngster as they’d have potentially created something very special at Anfield with Gavi.
But is wasn’t to be and Liverpool must move on. There are other talented youngsters out there, of course – Jude Bellingham arguably tops the lot. Hopefully, he’s someone the Reds can pursue going forward and we can all forget about Gavi.
