Incoming Liverpool player Fabio Carvalho has been named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year. Two ex-Reds also got the nod.
The PFA Championship Team of the Year was also named and incoming Red, Fabio Carvalho made it in. The teenager officially moves to Liverpool on July 1st after a fantastic campaign with Fulham.
Carvalho played a pivotal role as the Cottagers lifted the Championship trophy. They’re now back in the Premier League – but it comes at the cost of their playmaking academy product.
The Portuguese maestro was out of contract this summer and Liverpool struck a deal with Fulham to avoid compensation. And Carvalho now moves up North with validation of his success last season – if he needed that.
Fabio Carvalho makes PFA Team of the Year
Carvalho wasn’t the only name familiar to Liverpool in the team, however. Harry Wilson and Dominic Solanke joined him after brilliant seasons of their own.
Wilson, who joined Fulham from Liverpool just last summer, scored 10 goals and racked up an incredible 19 assists. Solanke left Liverpool in 2019 and scored 29 goals for Bournemouth in a sensational campaign. He even added seven assists of his own.
Neither player could quite make the grade at Liverpool, of course. The Reds boast arguably the strongest squad in their history, making it a tough task for anyone to get a game. So it’s nice to see both Wilson and Solanke delivering as we knew they could.
Carvalho, of course, is heading in the other direction as he joins Liverpool at the start of his career. A wonderful Championship season sets him up for success and we can’t wait to see what he’ll deliver over 2022/23.
