Sadio Mane has claimed that Jurgen Klopp has been impressed with his attempts to score overhead kicks during Liverpool training.
Speaking about his acrobatic goal against Norwich City in February with The Telegraph, Mane said that he’s the only one trying such things at Liverpool.
“I saw the header and decided what I was going to do at the last moment,” said Mane.
“When the ball came towards me, at first I was going to go with my head. I realised it was not possible, so I changed my mind quickly. I try this a lot in training and to be fair even the coach says ‘wow’. I think I am the only one who tries this!

It was a great goal at The Kop end and ensured momentum swung Liverpool’s way after going a goal down.
A Mane of many talents
Mane’s propensity to try the unexpected is part of what makes him such a fun player for Liverpool fans to watch.
You never quite know just what he’s going to do with the ball. He isn’t quite as electric as he used to be, but he’s still able to get supporters off their seats.
The 30-year-old is also an underrated finisher. He doesn’t just score tap-ins and easy finishes. Trawl through the 120 Liverpool goals he’s scored since his £34m move in 2016 and you’ll find plenty of variety in the goals.

There’s the two long-range left-footed screamers against Burnley and Manchester City in 2018/19. How about his famous touch, pirouette and dink over Manuel Neuer in the Allianz in 2019.
If you like headers, Mane has provided plenty of those as well. And as for improvised finishes to go with the one against Norwich, how about his delightful back-heeled goal against Watford, again in 2019.
Mane can truly do it all. If he does move on this summer, he’s left a brilliant highlights reel for Liverpool fans to pore over. One more tomorrow evening at the Stade de France wouldn’t go amiss Sadio!
