Liverpool are supposedly looking at Aurélien Tchouaméni, Jude Bellingham and Christoph Baumgartner in the upcoming transfer window. All three look like fantastic signings.
The Times claims that Liverpool want to sign a midfielder in the summer transfer window. Reports link the Reds with at least three, all of whom are under 23.
Let’s have a look at who could arrive ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Aurélien Tchouaméni
The Times themselves link Liverpool with Aurélien Tchouaméni and it should be no surprise that the Reds want him. The Frenchman has developed into one of the world’s leading defensive midfielders over the last two seasons.
Foot Mercato also claim there’s interest from Liverpool, in fact. It’s a move that would give the club an incredibly deep squad and a world-best successor to Fabinho down the line.
While he won’t be cheap – AS claim £60m – there are few better out there.
Christoph Baumgartner
Sportbild reported just yesterday that Jurgen Klopp wants Christoph Baumgartner at Liverpool. He would certainly be the most cost-sensitive option of the three, with the report claiming a price of around £25m.
The German is tremendously versatile, having played all across midfield for Hoffenheim this season. In fact, Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen considers Baumgartner to be an ‘extremely talented’ young player. His all-around game could be exactly what Liverpool need.
And again, he wouldn’t cost all that much.
Jude Bellingham
Jude Bellingham is, in our estimation, the best player Liverpool can realistically sign. We include his talent, his age, his potential and his overall fit into that. We honestly believe he could be the club’s first £100m player.
Now, the Reds might need to wait until 2023 to make this happen. Borussia Dortmund will reportedly be far more open to selling at that point and they know Liverpool hold an interest (per Sportbild).
While any of the signings would be impressive, Bellingham is the one that should most excited everyone.
