Liverpool’s coaching staff are expecting Luis Diaz to continue to improve as he settles into life at the club.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that there’s a ‘strong belief’ amongst the coaches that he has yet to reach anywhere near his peak.
The staff reportedly believe that Diaz is ‘only just getting started’ at Liverpool and will continue to get even better.
Diaz was brilliant against Villarreal on Tuesday night. But the example is given that he could have in-fact scored even more than the one goal he managed.
Diaz announces himself
There has been almost universal acclaim for Diaz since he joined The Reds in January. His arrival has been the catalyst for Liverpool finishing the season incredibly strongly, with four trophies still a possibility.
That acclaim reached its zenith on Tuesday night when he had a big hand in steering Liverpool into the Champions League final.

However, there is definitely still room for improvement from the flying Colombian.
Still plenty to work on
Jurgen Klopp has spoken of how, with the games coming so quickly, he has preferred to let Diaz play his natural game. With little time to work on tactical ideas, this has seemed to work a treat.
But come pre-season, Klopp will be keen to further drill in what is expected of his player both in and out of posession.
Diaz seems adept defensively, but the manager has spoken previously about improving this aspect of his game. He also does have a tendency to hold onto the ball a fraction too long in the final third.
These are minor details, though. They’ll surely be ironed out as Diaz works more with his new teammates and coaches.
For now, we should simply enjoy the electricity and unpredictability that he has brought to Liverpool. Without him, The Reds may still have been fighting on all fronts.
But with him, they stand a much, much better chance of completing their mission impossible.
