Liverpool have today launched their new kit for the 2022/23 season, and demand has gone through the roof.
As seen in a post from journalist Kevin Palmer on Twitter, the queue to pre-order the new shirt was running to 42 minutes this morning. Once through, the transaction must be completed within 10 minutes or your place in the queue will be lost.
As with previous editions, the new home shirt comes in two different offerings. There’s a cheaper one for casual wear, as well as a replica of the shirt worn by the players on the pitch.
According to Nike via liverpoolfc.com, the shirt’s design is inspired by ‘Scouse solidarity.’ You can pre-order the shirt for the May 19th release now, but you might have to be patient!
Everyone wants a piece of The Reds
Liverpool couldn’t really have timed the new release better. The popularity of the club is at an all-time high after a quite sensational season.
The Reds qualified for the Champions League final for the third time in five seasons this week.

New shirts are set to be released the week before the match with Real Madrid in Paris. Supporters are clearly flocking to make sure they’re clad in the latest shirt for the occasion.
Of course, Liverpool’s popularity is such that they could sell shirts anytime, anywhere. But with an unprecedented quadruple still on the cards this season, everyone seemingly wants to feel a part of what The Reds are doing.
Liverpool’s relatively new partnership with Nike will see the kit reach more shops than previously possible.
With FSG also reportedly in talks over a bumper new shirt sponsorship deal (The Daily Mail), the merchandise arm of the club looks like it’ll be in rude health for some time to come.
On-pitch will obviously help with that. But it’s yet another reminder of just how well followed the club continues to be.
