Luis Diaz has thanked the Liverpool fans after his performance helped earn The Reds a place in the Champions League final.
In a video posted by Liverpool FC on Twitter, Diaz shared a message for the supporters after the game against Villarreal.
“Thank you, see you in Paris,” said the Colombian with a big thumbs up and a smile for the camera.
Diaz was instrumental as Liverpool dispelled a disastrous first-half display to win 3-2 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate. Paris here we come!
Diaz is the man of the moment
Liverpool’s Colombian livewire was the man everybody wanted a piece of on Tuesday evening. Diaz was again electric as Liverpool settled themselves to overcome a resilient Villarreal side.
With the Spanish team 2-0 down from the first-leg, they had no choice but to attack Liverpool. This would have lent itself to Diaz’s pace on the counter-attack, but Jurgen Klopp opted to start Diogo Jota instead.

As a result, Diaz was forced to wait until half-time to be introduced. He wasted no time at all in making his presence felt though, giving Juan Foyth a torrid time down Liverpool’s left.
After such an impactful performance, it felt inevitable that he would get his goal, too.
Fabinho’s goal was the more crucial for The Reds. But Diaz’s header to make it 2-2 on the night completely removed any hope Villarreal may have had.
It was fitting that the man to put the tie out of their reach was the best player on the pitch .
Only Klopp knows whether Diaz has done enough to command a starting spot in his eleven for the big games to come. When the Liverpool boss and his staff watch this game back though, they’ll see the he really couldn’t have done much more.
Cheers Luis, see you in Paris!
