Wayne Rooney predicted the Premier League title race this week, having to pick between Liverpool and Manchester City. Not an easy one, then.
It’s another tight Premier League title race as Liverpool and Manchester City battle it out once again. Just one point separates the two sides after a week that saw them both win comfortably.
This is one that could really go down to the very last day, then – it might even take goal difference. Liverpool lead in that regard by five but that could swing any way by the end of May.
Predicting this one is tough, certainly. It’s even tougher for those associated with Manchester United, who would really prefer neither side to win it. There’s little choice there, though, and Wayne Rooney recognised that as he gave his thoughts this week.
“I’d prefer none of them but obviously one of them is,” Rooney told Beanyman Sports. “I think Liverpool might nick it. I think they’ve really looked strong over the last few months and I think winning the FA Cup semi-final could have an impact on that.

“So I’ve just got a feeling that Liverpool might nick it. I hope not – I’d rather City win it.”
Liverpool vs Manchester City
Liverpool are the in-form side and that could well prove decisive. Pep Guardiola, in fact, believes the Reds will win every remaining game – though, he’s got to work under that assumption, really.
It’s a title race that could come down to a single result. It could even be that both teams win every game and City take it by a point. Honestly, both scenarios seem plausible and it feels impossible to predict.
All Liverpool can really do is maintain their form and hope City lose their nerve. We’ll certainly have our fingers crossed.
