Here’s our predicted Liverpool XI vs Manchester United tomorrow. The Reds just keep playing massive games.
The big games just don’t stop coming. Fresh off an FA Cup semi-final victory over Manchester City, Manchester United come to Anfield. Liverpool need a win, of course, as they try to keep on the pressure in the title race.
Rotation is key, however, with important games coming thick and fast. So here’s how we think Liverpool will line up against United tomorrow.
Liverpool vs Manchester United
Defence
Alisson will start in goal, naturally. We can’t imagine Jurgen Klopp leaves out either Trent Alexander-Arnold or Andy Robertson, either – though, Kostas Tsimikas offers a decent alternative for the latter.
Virgil van Dijk will start and it makes complete sense to recall Joel Matip as his partner. The Cameroonian sat out the FA Cup win.
Midfield
We expect Liverpool to revert to the Fabinho / Thiago / Jordan Henderson trio – we did say that about Saturday, however. But it makes sense against United, with Naby Keita keeping fresh for the derby next week.

It also just offers the most consistent trio to go against a United midfield that just won’t be solid. Fred and Scott McTominay are both set to miss the game – that leaves Ralf Rangnick without anyone reliable in the middle.
Fabinho, Thiago and Henderson are the ones to take advantage of that.
Attack
Klopp’s biggest decisions come in the Liverpool attack. Mohamed Salah starts every game, for instance, but perhaps that means he sits this one out? Though, his poor form – no goals from open play in two months – make us want him in against a team that struggles to defend intensity.
One thing we’re pretty certain on is the return of Diogo Jota – their ‘pressing monster‘. He didn’t start against City, which surely makes him a lock here. Liverpool can then move Sadio Mané out left to threaten United with a lot of pace, let alone the ‘clever‘ movement of Jota up against a defence that struggles against movement.
