Liverpool believe Arnaut Dajnuma could replace one current star at the club. The Dutchman may be available after a sensational campaign.
This comes from Goal. They claim that Liverpool have eyes on Arnaut Danjuma and could see him as a replacement for Sadio Mané.
Mané’s contract expires in 2023 and there hasn’t been too much noise around a new one. There’s a very real possibility that Liverpool move on from their no.10 within the next two years – and that opens a spot.
Danjuma is an obvious replacement for Mané, should Liverpool want him. Marca linked them with a move last summer, claiming a £21m transfer was on the cards. They had competition from Villarreal, though.
And that’s exactly where Danjuma went for that fee. He’s now thriving in Spain and on Wednesday bagged his 14th goal of the season across La Liga and the Champions League.
Now, Goal’s report claims a summer transfer is unlikely. That would line up nicely with Mané potentially leaving at the end of his deal in 2023, when Villarreal might be a little more open to selling the Dutchman.
Arnaut Danjuma and Liverpool
It all makes sense. Liverpool supposedly had eyes on Danjuma even in January – along with Luis Diaz. The Colombian’s arrival means they certainly don’t need another left-winger right now, though.

But Danjuma might be one to watch for a post-Mané Liverpool. He’s a player who catches your attention every time you see him, with Michael Owen labelling him ‘absolutely exceptional’ earlier this season.
His winning goal against Bayern Munich last night only boosts his reputation further, too. So while a transfer this summer seems a bit too soon – unless Mané leaves – 2023 looks like a real opportunity.
We could yet see Danjuma in Red, if Liverpool are feeling patient.
