Watford striker Cucho Hernandez has lent his support to Luis Diaz after the Liverpool man missed out on the World Cup with Colombia.
Diaz posted a heartfelt message on Instagram yesterday. In it he shared his disappointment in not having qualified for the tournament.
Messages of support for Diaz came flooding in. Included in the well-wishers was Watford’s Hernandez – the man who will be aiming to thwart Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

“With you the dream will remain… Let’s go Luchito,” wrote Hernandez.
The Watford striker was not part of the Colombian squad on this occasion. But he has featured for them in the past, scoring two goals on his one and only appearance.
Disaster for Diaz
As Colombia’s main man, the failure to qualify for Qatar has obviously hit Diaz pretty hard.
The team had qualified for the last two Word Cups. But that was when James Rodriguez was still the player Colombian’s most looked forward to watching.
Diaz didn’t make his debut for the national team until after the 2018 tournament had finished.

It would be unfortunate if the Liverpool man became synonymous with his nation’s disappointing showing this time around. He is far too good a player for that.
The only silver lining from a Liverpool point of view is that he will now be well rested during the World Cup break in November – December.
Along with Mohamed Salah, he will have nothing to do but to sit and stew, waiting for the return to action.
Hopefully that will inspire the pair on to lift themselves, and Liverpool, to much greater heights next season.
