Neco Williams is likely to leave Liverpool to join Fulham for around £10m this summer.
That’s according to journalist David Lynch on Anfield Watch. When asked whether the Welsh right-back would make his loan switch to Fulham permanent this summer, Lynch gave an emphatic response.
“Absolutely. Neco has been a revelation since making the switch to Fulham,” he said. “If they secure promotion to the Premier League as expected, it’d be a surprise if they decided against a move.”

Lynch says that Liverpool were looking for £10m to sell the academy graduate last summer. Given Williams’ impressive displays in the second-half of the season, he doesn’t expect that figure to have changed much.
“Liverpool were willing to strike a deal last summer for around £10m and the player himself was keen on going in order to get more minutes,” he said.
“On the basis of his performances for Fulham so far, I doubt that asking price will have shifted much at all and could see an agreement being struck at around that this summer.”
Not bad business all round, really.

A young man in a hurry
Williams has quickly become one of Liverpool’s most saleable assets. Fulham will likely have to move fast to make sure they retain their position at the head of the queue for the 20-year-old.
His excellent performances on-loan in London and his impressive outings for Wales could see numerous interested parties.
Williams has two goals and two assists in nine Championship games since his January move. He was also brilliant as Wales beat Austria last week to keep their World Cup dreams alive.
It’s a shame for Liverpool to lose what is obviously an extremely talented player. But his chances of displacing Trent Alexander-Arnold as Jurgen Klopp’s first option at right-back are nil.

As he reminded everyone of before the international break, Joe Gomez can fill that role capably. He looks set to do so once again until Alexander-Arnold returns from injury.
As a young man in a hurry to establish himself in his national team, Williams can’t wait around forever for limited opportunities in cup games.
His consistently good displays when given the chance show that he can play at least a Championship level. Liverpool shouldn’t stand in his way if an acceptable offer comes in.
If The Reds can secure the kind of figure that Lynch is talking about, that would represent a win-win scenario.
