Sadio Mané has several clubs hoping to sign him from Liverpool, according to reports. His contract expires in 2023.

This comes from Goal. They say that Sadio Mané does want to stay with Liverpool beyond his current contract. That contract expires in 2023 – and it’s unclear if he’s been offered a new one yet.

What is apparently clear is that there is a line of clubs hoping to ‘give him a decision’. There can be little doubt that Mané would be one of the most in-demand players around if Liverpool did decide to move him on.

But the no.10 would like to remain at Anfield ‘in an ideal world’. Goal also believe it’s unlikely that he’ll be sold this summer, though, and that an offer is on the way.

Mané is ‘relaxed’ about the situation – for now, anyway.

Sadio Mané wants to stay with Liverpool

We wrote only yesterday that Mohamed Salah’s contract situation was distracting from both Mané and Roberto Firmino also entering the final year of their deals. And just like that, we get the first report on Mané situation for quite some time.

Unfortunately, it’s not a major update and no one really seems to know how Liverpool plan on going about all of this. It’s one thing to have a star player entering the final year of his deal – it’s another to have your entire forward line doing it.

But that’s the reality here and Liverpool certainly appear relaxed about it. It would shock us if they didn’t renew Mané contract, given how highly Jurgen Klopp regards him. He labelled him ‘incredible’ in the wake of his AFCON success – and he certainly was that.

We’ll see what happens over the next few months, then. Speculation is about to get out of hand, however, so let’s hope there’s some news soon.
