Liverpool youngster Owen Beck believes Andy Robertson is the best in the world in their position. The Scot certainly has a claim.
19-year-old old Owen Beck continues to impress this season as part of a very exciting group of young players at Liverpool. His performances have him training with the Reds’ first-team, as well as earning a couple of senior appearances in the EFL Cup.
Beck was on the pitch for Liverpool’s last-gasp finish against Leicester City, for instance. He tells Liverpoolfc.com that he’s still not really over the experience.
“I still can’t believe it happened, even now,” says Beck. “I was so nervous and when we scored to make it 3-3, it was just the best moment of my life really.
“As soon as Taki [Minamino] scored, I ran straight over to him to celebrate in front of the Kop!”
Beck is thoroughly enjoying things, then. Not only did he take part in an incredible game and moment such as that, but he also gets to study the world’s best in his position.
The left-back says he can’t help but watch Andy Robertson in training at Liverpool. He wants to add as much as he can to his game.
“I watch him and try to pick bits of his game I can try to add to my game,” says Beck. “In my opinion, he is the best left-back in the world at the minute, so it’s great to have him in front of me and getting the chance to train with him.”

Andy Robertson at Liverpool
Beck isn’t even the only one to label Robertson the best left-back in the world this week – Fabio Aurelio said the same. And it’s hard to argue against it.
We certainly wouldn’t swap Robertson for anyone and his mix of work rate and quality in the final third is simply unmatched. Not only is the world’s best left-back but he’s held that status for years now.
So how exciting is it that Jurgen Klopp believes he’s getting even better?
