Ally McCoist has said that he thinks Liverpool will win more trophies than Manchester City this season.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, the pundit was asked who will finish the season with the most silverware.
“The fact that Liverpool have already won one, I’m going to say Liverpool,” said McCoist.

The former Scotland international was then asked to name who will win each trophy. Bizarrely given his previous comment, he doesn’t choose Liverpool for any of them.
He does, however, think that Chelsea will win both the Champions League and FA Cup, whilst plumping for City to win the Premier League. Make it make sense!
Darren Bent, also on the show, said he thinks that Liverpool will win the Champions League. Bent went for City to win the league and cup double.
A season like no other
It’s very rare to go into the last stretch of the season with three clubs aiming for at least a double.
Liverpool, as McCoist alludes to, have already won a trophy this season after clinching the Carabao Cup. Jurgen Klopp’s side could still feasibly complete an unbelievable quadruple.

However, City will have something to say about that. After missing out on the Carabao Cup for the first time in five seasons, Pep Guardiola’s side can ‘only’ secure a treble this season.
And Chelsea, unlucky to lose to Liverpool in the cup final in February, will have their eyes on an FA Cup and Champions League double.
The strength of these teams illustrate just how good Liverpool will have to be win anything further this season.
Enjoying the ride
Right now, the Premier League is possibly the strongest it has ever been. If Liverpool were to win any of the three trophies left available to them this season, it would be rightly celebrated as a huge achievement.
Both of the clubs that Liverpool are primarily competing against have un-ending wealth. That Klopp has steered Liverpool to the very top of the game whilst spending a fraction of the amount of the teams around them doesn’t really get highlighted enough.

It is often said that Liverpool haven’t won enough under Klopp. But when the competition is that fierce, trophies are hard to come by.
We can sometimes take it for granted how good this Liverpool team are. To be in contention for four trophies as we head into April is frankly ludicrious.
Even if Liverpool come away empty handed between now and May, we should just enjoy having a team that are capable of being in with a shout.
