‘I agree’: Andy Robertson reacts to what he’s been hearing City players saying about Liverpool recently

Andy Robertson responded to Manchester City players after Liverpool pulled the title race within one point. The Reds beat Arsenal 2-0.

Liverpool are well and truly in this title race. They went to the Emirates for what is their second-biggest remaining game and came away with a pretty comfortable result.

Admittedly, the first-half was a struggle. Liverpool didn’t create all that much and Arsenal weren’t under too much threat. That all changed after half-time.

The Reds were more aggressive and far more fluid in that second half. We saw that best with a wonderful assist from Thiago for Diogo Jota to make it 1-0, with Jurgen Klopp then taking full advantage of his attacking options by taking the scorer off.

On came Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah – how’s that for luxury? Firmino had a goal shortly afterwards and Liverpool had, in all honesty, wrapped up the points.

They’re now just a single point behind Manchester City in the title race and things are truly hotting up. Andy Robertson certainly doesn’t want to get ahead of himself, however, as he wants to make it clear that Liverpool are still underdogs.

“Now we’re on level points but I’d still rather be in Man City’s position,” he told Sky Sports. “They’re ahead, they’ve still got a point advantage, we still need to go to their place.

“I think a couple of their players said that after the game and I agree with that.”

Well, he’s right. City are ahead of Liverpool and the meeting between the two is at their place. No one should get ahead of themselves here – Liverpool are still underdogs.

Their form gives them a fantastic chance of turning this entirely around, though. We certainly can’t wait for the game at the Etihad.
