Here’s our predicted Liverpool lineup to face Arsenal tomorrow. It’s a game with some huge title implications.
Liverpool now sit four points behind Manchester City with a game in hand. It’s a great position to be in, admittedly – the title race is in their hands.
But it means Liverpool must win both that game in hand and at Manchester City next month. That game in hand comes tomorrow as the Reds face Arsenal and it is a tough one.
Jurgen Klopp certainly thinks so, pointing out just how fresh Arsenal are compared to his team. And that’s on top of Mikel Arteta’s team being in fine form – this might be the biggest non-Etihad remaining test for Liverpool.
So with that in mind, let’s have a look at what Klopp might do.
Predicted Liverpool lineup vs Arsenal
Defence
Alisson will start in goal, of course, and we imagine the rest of the back-four is pretty straightforward. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.
They’re the strongest four, everyone is available, and we see no real reason to rotate.
Midfield
Again, we imagine Klopp will go with his best three here. Fabinho in the holding role, Jordan Henderson and Thiago in front of them. It’s a trio that offers incredible experience, quality and versatility.
There is Harvey Elliott or Naby Keita as options, of course. Keita, in particular, has the ability to really boost Liverpool’s attack when he’s at his best. It makes more sense to us for Klopp to go with the consistency of Henderson and Thiago, though.
Attack
Here’s the tricky one. Mohamed Salah left the pitch early against Brighton and Klopp admitted today that he’s still not completely back. But we expect Liverpool to take a chance on the Egyptian.

It’s too big of a game to leave him out if he’s fit enough and we’re not sure Liverpool will use him in the FA Cup this weekend anyway. We think they can afford to risk Salah here.
Then the other big choice – Diogo Jota. We expect him to return to the XI, with Luis Diaz bowing out. We know how highly Klopp rates Jota – labelling him ‘world-class’ recently – and his two goals against Arsenal in January make him a good pick here.
So as good as Diaz has been, and he’s been excellent, going back to the tried-and-true works for us.
