James Milner was a picture of calm as his Liverpool teammates rushed to celebrate winning the Carabao Cup on penalties last night.
While Liverpool players sprinted towards Caoimhin Kelleher with delight painted on their faces, Milner stood still.
With two fists clenched and a knowing look across to the Liverpool bench, the 36-year-old celebrated in his own, understated way.

Coming on in the 80th minute, Milner played through a gruelling period of extra-time. The Yorkshireman then stepped up to score the opening penalty of the shootout for Liverpool.
Maybe he was simply too tired to chase after his younger teammates!
On the flip-side was Harvey Elliott. At 18-years-old, Elliott is exactly half the age of Milner. That showed as the boyhood Red celebrated full-throttle with a flare in-front of the fans.

Un-sung heroes
Although he didn’t manage to get on the pitch for the final, Takumi Minamino was crucial to Liverpool’s Carabao Cup victory.
The Japanese top-scored with four goals across the rounds. It was great to see him urged to lift the trophy with the fans by his teammates.

Kostas Tsimikas was another who was key to Liverpool en-route to the final. The left-back has prvided brilliant competition for Andy Robertson this season.
He soaked up the atmosphere with a jubilant Mohamed Salah.

Legends in the making
Elsewhere, Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold took a moment on the Wembley turf to think about their acheivement.
The pair have been crucial to Liverpool’s success in the Jurgen Klopp era.
Another trophy has now been added to the collection. If Liverpool are to add any more this season, Robbo and Trent will be vital to that.

Joel Matip is another who has become a key man for The Reds. The centre-back thought he had won the game in normal time but his header was ruled out for offside.
Nevertheless, Matip further cemented his cult status with a brilliant celebration with the trophy.

Never change, Joel!
