Harvey Elliott sent out a video message to Liverpool fans after making his return for Liverpool on Sunday. It was one to remember.
Not only did Harvey Elliott make his return for Liverpool vs Cardiff City but he marked the occasion with his first Liverpool goal. And what a goal it was. Elliott controlled a cross with an excellent first touch before firing a pinpoint finish on the turn.
It was brilliant – fantastic technique from anyone, let alone an 18-year-old who hasn’t played in months. Overall, Elliott looked incredibly sharp and we’re very excited about his immediate future.
And the teenager is, too, of course. This was a long time coming for Elliott, who started the season incredibly well before his injury against Leeds United. He’s back now, though, and was sure to send a message to fans after the game.

“Buzzing to be back,” said Elliot on Liverpool’s Twitter account. “Just wanted to take a moment to say a massive thank you for all your support whilst I’ve been out.
“Scoring in front of the fans at this wonderful stadium meant a lot to me. Happy to be back – now let’s focus on the next game.”
There’s just so much positivity around Elliott after that return. Fans were already excited for it but he just looked so good out there that Liverpool immediately have another exciting option in their team.
Yes, calling a moment like this a ‘new signing’ is overplayed but there’s a real sense of that right now. Liverpool are trying to win four trophies this season and having someone like Elliott come back in and look sharp is a godsend.
Hopefully, he can be a difference-maker in this pursuit of silverware.
