Bukayo Saka could be an ideal signing for Liverpool right now. The Reds want the Arsenal player, according to reports.
ESPN claim Liverpool want Bukayo Saka in the summer. Their interest hinges on Arsenal failing to finish in the top four, however.
Saka’s contract expires in 2023 and Champions League qualification could see him renew. Fail to do so and Liverpool – along with Manchester City – will put pressure on Arsenal to sell.
And it shouldn’t exactly be a shock that the Reds like Saka. Signing him would essentially give them four signings in one.
Liverpool target Bukayo Saka
Saka is a fantastic talent and, for our money, the best at Arsenal. He was labelled the ‘best player’ at Arsenal by Garth Crooks this season, in fact – he’s a wonderful mix of speed and skill.
Saka is also a very intelligent player for 20. You can see that in how many roles he’s capable of playing for Arsenal already, having played right wing, left wing and left wing-back just this season. The youngster broke through as a left-back, too, with there being at least four positions he’s comfortable in.

But it actually goes deeper than that. Saka is very capable playing deep on each wing or much higher up and we wonder if there’s even scope for a centre-midfield role down the line.
At the bare minimum, though, Liverpool would be adding someone who cover left-back, left-wing, right-wing and can be a serious wing-back option, too. Such a player is incredibly valuable, especially if you want to operate with a smaller squad.
We think Liverpool could really be onto something with Saka, then. He’s a fantastic fit for several reasons and if the Reds can sign him ‘cheap’ in the final year of his deal, the 20-year-old could be a magnificent signing.
