Tyler Morton is clearly in awe of Liverpool teammate Thiago. The Liverpool youngster finds himself just watching the superstar midfielder.
Tyler Morton has had a whirlwind of a season for Liverpool. He started it off while not really being on the first-team radar but injuries to senior stars thrust the teenager into the spotlight.
Morton picked up starts in the EFL Cup, Champions League and Premier League, putting in some fine performances. He’s gone from being a youth player to a genuine rotation option for Jurgen Klopp and in record time, too.
But he’s certainly not done. Morton remains in awe of some of Liverpool’s stars and hopes to reach their levels, with one player standing out above all – Thiago.
Tyler Morton in awe of Liverpool star Thiago
“Sometimes I just watch Thiago,” Morton told the Independent. “You can’t not just admire it; how he plays; the touch of the ball; the disguise he puts on passes.
“You think ‘that’s where I want to be’. He’s just that good.”

We actually wrote two months ago that Thiago would be a dream mentor for Morton. The teenager seems like a fantastic progressive midfielder in the long-term and there’s no better to learn from than Thiago.
And it sounds as though that’s exactly what’s happening at Liverpool. Morton wants to be at Thiago’s level and appears ready to strive to get there.
It’s one of the many wonderful advantages of having world-renowned stars like Thiago at the club. They’re examples for young players and natural mentors – with a bit of luck, players like Morton will rapidly improve as they learn from the best.
