Jurgen Klopp believes Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could be the best player ‘on the planet’ right now. The Egyptian is thriving this season.
“At this moment, I think Mo can make a very valid claim for being the best footballer on the planet.”
That’s what Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp told GQ recently, believing there can’t be many – if any – better than Mohamed Salah right now. And that’s certainly very difficult to argue against.
Salah is having the season of his life. That’s saying something, given he broke the Premier League goal record in his debut campaign back in 2017/18. Right now, though, he’s on another level.
The Egyptian tops both the goalscoring and assist charts right now – a ridiculous feat. Salah has done it while producing some of the moments of the season, too, such as dancing past Manchester City’s defence in the box on his way to a Goal of the Season contender.
And then doing the same thing in his next game against Watford.
No one in the world can deliver that same mix of sensational moments and world-class consistency right now.
Jurgen Klopp on Mohamed Salah
Klopp clearly sees Salah as something truly remarkable right now – you can see it in his quotes littered throughout GQ’s article.

“He’s the best sort of greedy,” said Klopp. “He wants more for the team and more for himself, but the first part of that is what drives him. He wants us, the team, to win first and foremost.”
What more can a manager ask for, truly? Salah wants absolutely everyone to be successful and has the necessary drive to make it happen by producing some of the best football around.
So we’re more than happy to agree with Klopp here – Salah is the world’s best. We certainly wouldn’t entertain swapping him for anyone, even for a single game.
Now let’s get that contract sorted.
