Some Liverpool fans loved what they saw from Conor Bradley as the Reds saw out 4-1 win over Shrewsbury Town on Sunday. The right-back made things happen.
Liverpool named an interesting starting XI to face Shrewsbury Town. Various absences, mixed with lower-league opposition, saw a heavily-rotated team featuring four teenagers.
Plenty of focus fell on Kaide Gordon, of course, who Liverpool supposedly see as another Harvey Elliott. He certainly caught the eye, too, with his first senior goal to make it 1-1. Gordon showed fantastic composure to set himself before finishing cooly – and earned plenty of praise for it.
But he wasn’t the only one who made it happen. Conor Bradley, playing right-back for Liverpool, picked Gordon out in the box with a great pass from the flank. He opted against a cross, firing a pass into his teammate’s feet.
Bradley consistently looked dangerous down the flank, too. He got forward well, moving beyond Gordon to offer width all game long and put some dangerous balls into the box.
It was enough to earn praise on Twitter from Liverpool fans who liked what they saw from Bradley.
Conor Bradley impresses Liverpool fans
Bradley is rated incredibly highly at Liverpool by staff and has been for some time now. Now 18, he’s really showing where that reputation comes from.
More games should bring more performances like this and certainly further experience. Bradley is still in very early days, after all, but we like what we’re seeing so far and we’re confident there’s a quality player here in the next few years.
Then there’s just the Trent Alexander-Arnold problem – how does Bradley get a game while the Scouser is first-choice? That’s the issue down the line but right now, Bradley is looking like a potential star.
