Here’s the confirmed Liverpool lineup vs Leicester City this evening. The Reds need to make up some ground in the title race.

Jurgen Klopp boasts a very strong squad tonight as Liverpool take on Leicester City. Not only that but it’s a well-rested group, having not played a Premier League game in a week.

Thiago, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Curtis Jones are all out of quarantine, too, having missed the Tottenham Hotspur clash. Lucky Liverpool, then, who might just have the strongest available group right now. Certainly stronger than Leicester, anyway.

Leicester have a ton of absences for this one, missing their entire first-choice back four as well as others. It piles the pressure on a Liverpool side that really doesn’t have any excuses tonight.

So with that in mind, let’s see what Klopp has gone for.

Well, the only real surprise is that Thiago doesn’t make the cut – Oxlade-Chamberlain starts in his spot. The Spaniard has ‘muscle soreness’ after only a couple days of training. That’s certainly fair enough.

Other than that, it’s a very strong Liverpool team. Tsimikas starts in place of the suspended Andy Robertson but other than him and Thiago, it’s the best-possible XI.

Reaction

Some decent reaction to that, then. There are concerns – Fabinho is a yellow from suspension, Naby Keita appeared a decent choice in midfield, and Thiago’s fitness is a worry.

But we’re feeling positive about this one. Liverpool are big favourites to beat Leicester today – this XI should get the job done.
