There’s a suggestion Mohamed Salah will actually improve in coming weeks

Could Mohamed Salah actually improve over the coming weeks? It seems quite ridiculous given his current form but it’s a reality we should probably expect.

Mohamed Salah is in the form of his life. Honestly, we didn’t think he had this in him. We knew he was world-class and one of the best forwards around but what he’s doing now is absolutely ridiculous.

Ten consecutive games with a goal, 15 goals and five assists in 12 games, breaking records every week and he’s peppered in some Goal of the Season contenders.

His Old Trafford hat-trick almost certainly cemented the Egyptian as the world’s best player. That’s what fans and teammates appear to believe, anyway, and he gets our vote.

But could he actually improve over the coming weeks? We believe he can.

Can Salah improve?

Liverpool’s trip to Old Trafford was arguably their biggest fixture until the end of 2021. It turned out not to be all that difficult but it was the last game where the Reds weren’t overwhelming favourites to win.

Again, we’d probably argue they should have been overwhelming favourites. This was a trip to play one of the biggest and richest teams in the world, though.

Liverpool don’t have any of those left. They will host Atletico Madrid next week but that game has a slightly different flavour to it. The Reds are almost certainly through to the next round already, Atletico won’t have Antoine Griezmann and the same pressure to win isn’t there.

Beyond that, we’re looking at West Ham United, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City away as the most difficult remaining games in 2021. Liverpool will expect to win all three, really.

So with the likes of United, Atletico, Manchester City and Chelsea out of the way for now, Salah may find things a little easier. And that’s quite ridiculous, given he’s played three of those teams in his last four games and provided at least two goal contributions in each.

Couple that with reports Salah believes he hasn’t peaked (per the Athletic) and there’s a genuine suggestion that he’ll improve. Can Salah look even better in the coming months?
