Liverpool didn’t have the best weekend. The Reds didn’t have the worst weekend. It was just one of those. Despite the result we saw some strong performances. Garth Crooks was full of praise for Jordan Henderson after the game.
Liverpool held by Brentford
This weekend the Reds journeyed to West London to take on one of the Premier League’s most exciting sides.
Thomas Frank has worked wonders with Brentford and this weekend showed why he is held in such high regard.
The home team manager got his game plan absolutely spot on. The Bees overloaded the Reds’ far post to devastating effect.
In the end it was three goals a piece as the two sides fought out a deserved draw.
We weren’t perfect defensively but the opposition were intelligent with their attacking movement.
Garth Crooks on Jordan Henderson
Our captain put in a right old shift this weekend.
The skipper was charging all over the pitch as usual, keeping intensity high in an end to end encounter.
The leader’s performance wowed one BBC pundit in particular. In his Team of the Week column, Garth Crooks wrote of Jordan Henderson:
“Liverpool keep trying to write this lad off but when the Merseysiders hit the buffers, and they did against Brentford, Henderson is the one player they can depend on to see them through the crisis. An exceptional professional.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool can always rely on their captain.
When Jordan Henderson is fit he’s an automatic starter because of everything he gives to the side on and off the ball.
He is a facilitator and a motivator, without his vocal style and positional awareness our key creators wouldn’t be able to operate as they do. We owe him everything.
