Christian Falk: Karim Adeyemi is on Liverpool transfer shortlist

German football journalist Christian Falk has confirmed that Liverpool are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi.

The 19-year-old has burst onto the scene in Austria this season after a few years of hype.

Now that Patson Daka has departed, he has become Salzburg’s main man up top and has delivered spectacularly.

Adeyemi has scored seven goals and assisted one more in eight A. Bundesliga games this season, including a goal in last weekend’s match against Rapid Wien.

This form has seen many top sides linked to the player, including Liverpool.

Now, the reliable Falk has confirmed the Reds’ interest to BILD. He confirmed that Liverpool were one of the sides that have Adeyemi on their shortlist.

Falk says that Bayern Munich are also keeping an eye. Salzburg would seemingly find it hard to say no if one of these top sides came calling.

There is nothing advanced yet. However, the interest from Merseyside seems to be very real.

Liverpool fans should be getting very excited about this latest Adeyemi development.

Falk was the one journalist that maintained that Liverpool were interested in Thiago last year. This was despite local media and other reliable reporters claiming that it was a non-starter.

So, the BILD head of football is a man in the know, especially with German football.

There is no denying how perfect Adeyemi would be for Liverpool.

He is good enough to contribute right now but young enough to develop into a world-class player a few years down the line.

He also has the ability to play anywhere across the front three, making him the perfect deputy until he is ready to become a regular starter.

If the Red Bull group think that he has good potential, he probably does. The same can be said for Germany boss Hansi Flick, who handed Adeyemi his full international debut last month.

There is no doubting his talent, so he would be an excellent pick-up for Liverpool. It’d be even better if they managed to get him in January.
