Liverpool lineup against Norwich City tonight with Jürgen Klopp set to hand out a sequence of debuts. The Reds don’t typically take the EFL Cup seriously but things could be different this time around, things could also be costly. According to The Telegraph, Kaide Gordon playing against Norwich City would cost Liverpool £100k.
The boss is likely to make sweeping changes from the lineup which faced Crystal Palace.
James Milner and Kostas Tsimikas are the only two players expected to survive the wholesale replacements.
Conor Bradley is likely to be given a debut at right back given the injury of Neco Williams.
Meanwhile the centre of defence is sure to be Nat Phillips and Joe Gomez.
In the final third we’re expecting Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi to start.
The duo will likely be to the left of Kaide Gordon.
Kaide Gordon debut v Norwich payout
Liverpool signed Kaide Gordon from Derby County in January.
The deal cost an initial £1m and could rise to £3m.
Since his arrival he’s done nothing but impress. The teenager has put in consistently excellent performances in the academy and he shone during pre-season.
As a result we’re expecting Kaide Gordon to start against Norwich City.
According to The Telegraph, the 16-year-old wonderkid making his debut tonight would cost Liverpool £100k.
The payout was part of the deal to bring him to the club with cash strapped Derby County set to benefit from the payment having just announced they are to go into administration.
What RTK has to say
If we needed further reason to play Kaide Gordon then we’ve got it.
The Reds would be doing a good deed by giving the youngster his debut tonight.
Derby County are in desperate need of the cash and, let’s face it, they wouldn’t have sold Gordon so cheap in the first place if they weren’t in dire straits.
We can’t wait to see what the youngster does tonight.
