This week sees one of the most storied fixtures in European history play out at Anfield. Liverpool lineup against AC Milan, a tie which is inextricable from the Miracle of Istanbul in 2005. A lot has changed since. Here is our predicted Liverpool lineup to face AC Milan:

Goalkeeper: Alisson Becker
The Brazilian has been as consistent as ever this season, we can rely on him for the big occasion.
Right back: Trent Alexander-Arnold
The Scouser in our team is unlike anything this Milan side have faced before, he’ll give them nightmares.
Centre back: Virgil van Dijk
The Dutchman will be key to keeping the back line in check, particularly the debutant alongside him.
Centre back: Ibrahima Konate
The £36m could be set for his Liverpool debut with the fragile Joel Matip perhaps not ready for two games a week just yet.
Left back: Andy Robertson
The Scotland captain hasn’t started the season as brightly as Trent, Kostas Tsimikas will be breathing down his neck.
Defensive midfield: Fabinho
The Lighthouse was man of the match at the weekend, we’ll need him on top again this week.
Centre midfield: Naby Keita
The Guinean was impressive in our first two games of the season. With Harvey Elliott injured we expect him back in the starting lineup.
Centre midfield: Jordan Henderson
Thiago ran the show at the weekend but we expect him to be rested with the skipper back in from the start.
Right wing: Mo Salah
The Egyptian King reached 100 Premier League goals at the weekend, he’ll be right in the mood.
Left wing: Sadio Mane
Sadio showed persistence pays off this weekend, hopefully it won’t take him 10 shots at Anfield.
Striker: Diogo Jota
The Portugal forward was a star in the group stage last season, more of the same please.
