Liverpool target Lautaro Martinez

Liverpool need to add competition and quality to the front line.

At the moment we only have four capable forwards across three positions.

Not only does this put us at risk in the event of an injury crisis but the lack of competition can lead to complacency with performance levels dropping off.

90Min previously reported that Liverpool want Lautaro Martinez.

The outlet claimed that the Reds are one of a number of clubs to have asked for updates on the striker’s future.

Spurs agree Lautaro Martinez fee

There has been an update on the Argentine’s future.

According to The Times, Spurs have agreed a £60m fee for Lautaro Martinez.

The North London side are said to have beaten competition from Arsenal.

Of course, the striker still has to agree to personal terms, this isn’t a done deal yet.

What on earth is going on?

At 23-years-old Lautaro Martinez is one of the most exciting young strikers in the world.

If he’s available for £60m then the Reds need to be in that conversation.

Liverpool not beating Spurs to his signing means it’s time to start asking questions.

The Reds are in dire need of reinforcements and we appear set to miss out on a bargain.

Come the end of the window, if we haven’t brought in fresh blood, then letting opportunities like this pass us by will prove incredibly frustrating.
