Reported Liverpool target Karim Adeyemi has ‘extreme speed’, according to an RB Salzburg sporting director. The 19-year-old appears set to be the next big thing.
Multiple reports in recent days have linked Liverpool with Karim Adeyemi. Bild made the claim this week, with Transfermarkt backing them up. The latter believes the Reds could make a move as soon as January.
And there’s a good reason for that. Adeyemi’s stock just keeps on growing and it may not be long before half of Europe have their eyes on him – if they don’t already.
The German became the main-man up top for RB Salzburg this season, following in the footsteps of Erling Haaland and Patson Daka. And just like those two, he’s scoring at an incredible rate.
Adeyemi has six goals in his first six league games this season, as well as another in a Champions League qualifier. He made his Germany debut over the international break, too, and scored.
Liverpool have supposedly had eyes on the player since 2018, per Goal, and they may now face a rush to sign him. And if they do, it sounds like they’d be getting exactly the right player for them.
Karim Adeyemi has extreme speed
RB Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund spoke glowingly of Adyemei after he broke into their first team earlier this year. He sees a player that’s perfect for their squad.
“He is a type of player whose qualities fit our style of football perfectly,” he said, per SportMob.
“He is a difference-making player who, with his extreme speed, was classified by our scouting department as a perfect Red Bull Salzburg player, which has been confirmed.
“Karim has developed very positively, especially as a personality, both on and off the pitch. He has become a professional and, despite his young age, already has a very good standing within the team.
“A lot has also happened with Karim in terms of football and he is on a very good path overall.”
A very professional, hard-working forward with ‘extreme speed’? That’s essentially what Liverpool want up top. They’ve already got at least three players who fit that bill.
And at 19, perhaps Adeyemi can be their long-term option in that sense. We’re growing more and more excited about the prospect – but let’s see if he can maintain this form.
If he can, Adeyemi may end up being the perfect Liverpool signing.
