Liverpool are going to have to start thinking about a succession plan for the front three soon. The Reds attacking trio will all be 30-years-old at the start of next season. We need fresh blood to take over at some point. Liverpool moving for Kingsley Coman instead of Jeremy Doku would be an expensive gamble. The Reds have been linked with both.

Liverpool linked with Kingsley Coman

25-years-old and boasting an embarrassment of league titles as well as a Champions League winners’ medal, it’s safe to say Kingsley Coman has accomplished a lot in the game.

The Frenchman has been linked with an exit from Bayern for some time.

There always comes a time in a Munich star’s career when the press starts to insist they’re bored of winning the title easily every year.

Le10Sport has claimed that the winger wants to leave Germany and head for the Premier League, allegedly rejecting an extension to his current deal which runs until 2023.

The outlet has gone on to report that Liverpool are interested in Kingsley Coman.

Manchester City are also said to be keen on the player Bild quoted a £77m fee for over the summer.

Liverpool linked with Jeremy Doku

Over the summer links resurfaced between the Reds and one of Belgium’s brightest youngsters.

Sacha Tavolieri claimed Liverpool are still interested in Jeremy Doku.

However, Rennes were said to be demanding £42.5m for the 19-year-old winger.

The teenager has caught the eye with his blistering pace and close dribbling ability but he still needs to work on his end product.

Coman an expensive gamble

Liverpool moving for Coman would be an expensive gamble indeed.

He would cost a king’s ransom, even with just a year on his contract starting next summer.

Not only would Bayern demand a sizeable fee but the winger would want a heft paypacket – just look at his CV.

The Reds would be better off negotiating with Rennes. Doku wouldn’t cost as much in wages and given he is six years younger than Coman the boss would be able to mould the Belgian winger into the ideal Liverpool wide forward.
