Last season Liverpool were losing key players at a rate of knots. The Reds saw first team regulars drop like flies and then their replacements followed suit. It looks as though the club’s poor luck could be set to continue. Twitter has reacted to reports that FIFA could prevent three Liverpool players from playing against Leeds United.
Liverpool face Leeds United
The Reds will be confident going into Sunday’s tie.
Jürgen Klopp’s side has started the season well whilst their hosts are yet to win a game.
Leeds United were thumped 5-1 by Manchester United on the opening day.
Thereafter Everton claimed a point off them in a 2-2 draw whilst Burnley drew 1-1 with Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
The Reds will also have revenge in mind after the Yorkshire side snatched a late point at Elland Road last season thanks to an 87th minute header from Diego Llorente.
FIFA bans for Liverpool v Leeds
This weekend’s fixture has already become very complicated.
For the current international break a number of Premier League sides barred players from joining up with their national sides.
The reasoning concerned quarantine rules and health guidance. Players due to visit red list countries were prevented from accepting their call up.
As a result Brazil has asked FIFA to trigger a five-day suspension which effects Liverpool v Leeds United.
If FIFA follow through then the Reds will be without Alisson Becker, Roberto Firmino (already injured) and Fabinho. Leeds will be without Raphinha.

It’s safe to say fans are fuming about this ridiculous decision.
