This summer Jürgen Klopp lost a key midfielder. As a result plenty of Kopites have been calling out for reinforcements to be signed. One man keeps cropping up as a potential addition to the ranks in the middle. Reports in Italy have claimed Liverpool are lining up a January move for Franck Kessie.
Reliability is the name of the game. Consistency.
Last season the Reds had neither in the centre of defence after an injury crisis rocke the squad.
As a result eyebrows were raised when Gini Wijnaldum was allowed to leave on a free transfer with no replacement signed.
The Dutchman played more minutes than anybody else during Jürgen Klopp’s reign at Anfield.
That kind of reliability shouldn’t be taken for granted, he needs to be replaced.
Liverpool planning Franck Kessie bid
Next summer Franck Kessie’s contract with AC Milan expires.
The Ivorian midfielder is one of the most highly rated holding players in Serie A.
He is dynamic, explosive, hardworking and an excellent penalty taker.
According to Il Milanista Liverpool want to sign Franck Kessie in January.
The Reds’ Champions League group stage opponents are thought to be unwilling to budge on Kessie’s wage demands and as such may have to entertain offers in January in order to get what they can for him instead of letting him go on a free transfer.
However, Il Milanista has claimed that the Italian giants want Thiago in exchange, the outlet refers to this as a ‘crazy proposal’.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Kessie in January wouldn’t make sense.
We aren’t in the business of spending money unnecessarily.
If we can get him for nothing in the summer then why splash out to get him for a few months when the boss is unlikely to make him a regular starter straight away.
