Liverpool fans will be hoping for a striker to be signed in the near future. The Reds are short of depth in the final third and as a result an addition to the attacking roster is essential. The Reds have been linked with the next best striker on the block. Liverpool hold a key advantage in the race for Karim Adeyemi.
Who is Karim Adeyemi?
19-year-old striker Karim Adeyemi was born in Munich.
The German forward is currently the star man up top for Red Bull Salzburg.
Since Patson Daka’s departure the youngster has become the Austrian side’s main goal scorer.
This term he has scored six goals in six games for Erling Haaland’s former side.
A lethal finisher with exceptional movement, the teenager was in the Bayern youth set up before heading for Austria.
Liverpool want Karim Adeyemi
It’s no surprise that Karim Adeyemi is in high demand.
The youngster has caught the eye of Europe’s biggest clubs with his performances for club and country – he recently scored on his Germany debut.
Bild has claimed Liverpool are eyeing up a move for Karim Adeyemi.
The Reds are thought to be fighting Barcelona and Bayern Munich for the youngster’s signature.
According to the outlet the striker is worth around £17m in the current market.
Liverpool hold key advantage
The Reds have the upper hand in this transfer tussle for two reasons.
Firstly, Liverpool have a special relationship with the Red Bull organisation.
In the past officials from Anfield have visited RB facilities prior to the planning of the AXA Training Centre.
Furthermore, we have a history of buying players from the organisation, just this summer we bought Ibrahima Konate from Leipzig.
Secondly, given that Leipzig finished second behind Bayern Munich last term and they recently lost Marcel Sabitzer to the German giants, Red Bull are unlikely to want their next best thing sign for the Bundesliga champions.
Therefore, Liverpool should have something of a first option when it comes to signing Adeyemi.
