Naby Keita has also struggled for consistency due to persistent fitness issues.
Meanwhile Jordan Henderson’s injury woes are seeming to become more frequent.
Losing Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer to PSG meant losing our most reliable man in the middle, the Dutchman rarely missed a game.
We need to replace that reliability.
Liverpool should go all out for Jude Bellingham
Despite only turning 18-years-old in June, Jude Bellingham is one of the most exciting midfielders on the planet.
The teenager, who has made no secret of his admiration for Steven Gerrard, is an undroppable member of the Borussia Dortmund lineup.
Eurosport has previously claimed Liverpool hold an interest in Jude Bellingham but the Bundesliga side would want about £100m for him.
At his young age he already has a wealth of first team experience and the world is at his feet.
He is the ideal FSG signing: he is young, full of potential and his value will likely increase during his time at Anfield.
Furthermore, he would relish the opportunity to emulate his hero Steven Gerrard.
This should be a no brainer, Liverpool should go all out to sign Jude Bellingham and secure our midfield for another decade.
